A popular English apple from the Victorian era, widely grown at the time and esteemed for its flavour and blossom. An upright compact tree, it is very hardy, succeeding in cold poorly drained soils. It is virtually disease free. Cropping is irregular according to one report, whilst others say that it crops prolifically. Harvest the fruit in mid October or later.
